Color Pelletizer & Classifier
Following the quench process, the strands feed into a pelletizer chopper. The pelletizer chops the color into 1/8 inch lengths ready for yarn processing. To ensure consistent lengths, the color is classified. Classification is simply the process of categorizing pellets using a vibrating sifter that removes or declassifies any pellet that is not of proper size. This step helps ensure quality for the customer.
